Most Natural and Cheap Ways to Clean Upholstery

Did you know that it was possible to make a natural and cheap cleaning solution for upholstery cleaning Sydney? Did you know that, in fact, you can make a variety of different cleaning solutions at home depending on the ingredients you have the result you want? All of them are entirely natural and all of them are cheap, but each one can offer you fantastic results when it comes to upholstery cleaning Sydney.

Although it’s often best to hire professionals when you need any upholstery cleaned in your home, it’s useful to have this information about homemade options just in case it becomes necessary or for those times in between your regular deep clean that just can’t wait. Read on to find out more.

Soap Flakes

Using soap flakes to make a cleaning mixture doesn’t sound overly outlandish or complicated, and it’s not in either case. You simply need around six tablespoons of soap flakes mixed with a pint of boiling water. This mixture will need to be left to cool completely, and when it does, it will become a gel. Finally, once it is at this stage, whip it up until you see foam – now it’s ready to use.

Using a soft, clean cloth or a soft brush, apply the foam to the upholstery and scrub. This should lift the stain away. Then make sure you wipe the foam away with a different, dry cloth. Of course, this method is best for small stains and not for upholstery cleaning Sydney the entire sofa or chair or another piece of furniture, although if you want to do this, you can; you’ll need more soap flakes though.

Vinegar

Vinegar is an excellent all-round cleaner, so it should come as no surprise when we say it can be used to great effect when upholstery cleaning Sydney calls for it. Mix two and a half tablespoons of vinegar with half a cup of water, and then dab it onto the stain or dirty area. Don’t soak the upholstery (this will take the stain deeper), but do make sure enough liquid has been applied. Use a dry cloth to blot away any excess.

Since vinegar has a pungent smell to it and, depending on how much you needed to use, this smell can linger after the upholstery cleaning Sydney has been completed, you might choose to sprinkle the upholstery with baking soda, leaving it for 30 minutes, and then vacuum it away. This will neutralise the smell.

Carbonated Water

Carbonated water might not be as cheap as still water from the tap, but it still costs very little, and it is an excellent way to carry out upholstery cleaning Sydney. Mix half a cup of carbonated water with a quarter cup of vinegar and two tablespoons of detergent. You can then put the mixture into a spray bottle for easy application.

Spray the carbonated water mixture onto your upholstery and allow it to soak in for up to five minutes before scrubbing the stains to lift the dirt.
