Premier League giants Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid in the summer transfer window next year.
Felix had become one of the top young stars in the world while still strengthening Benfica. Atletico then hooked him with a transfer value of 126 million euros.
In the last three seasons, Felix’s appearance has not always been consistent at Atletico. However, last season he successfully brought his team to win the La Liga stage.
Now as reported by Fichajes, Liverpool have identified Joao Felix as one of their targets in the summer transfer window next year.
Liverpool itself gets a breath of fresh air because the Atletico camp is claimed to be ready to release Joao Felix at a much lower price than when they bought him from Benfica.
The price set by Atletico for Joao Felix is now at 80 million euros. The funds will be used by Los Rojiblancos to sign Antoine Griezmann permanently from Barcelona.
To Convince Mohamed Salah
The signing of Joao Felix is believed to give Liverpool the weapons to convince their star, Mohamed Salah, to be willing to stay longer at Anfield.
Salah himself is currently under contract with Liverpool until June 2023. The two parties are reportedly currently negotiating a new contract.
Salah could be even more convinced to extend his contract at Liverpool because his team’s chances of winning the title are getting bigger with the presence of Joao Felix.

Former Liverpool player Glen Johnson greatly admires Leeds United winger Raphinha. He also wanted to see the player defend the Reds.
Raphinha joined Leeds United in 2020. The Brazilian was signed from French club Rennes.
In a short time, Raphinha managed to steal the attention in the Premier League. He performed well in Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds squad.
So far, Raphinha has scored nine goals in 38 appearances for Leeds. The 24-year-old also made nine assists.
Raphinha’s performance with Leeds impressed Glen Johnson. He admitted that he really liked the player.
“I love him. I’m a huge fan,” Johnson told BettingOdds.com.
“The style of football that Leeds plays suits him, he’s taken off his shackles and he’s technically great.”
Perfect for Liverpool
Johnson hopes Raphinha can join Liverpool. He feels the Brazilian player fits perfectly with the Reds’ style of play.
“If he did sign for Liverpool then I wouldn’t expect him to demand a place in their starting eleven, but he will definitely be one of the marginalized players and will definitely strengthen the squad.”
“He’s the type of player that fits Liverpool’s style of play as well, so if the money is right then I’m sure he will be their main target.”
