HALLOWEEN KILLS ‘: EVERYTHING WE KNOW ABOUT THE NEW DELIVERY OF MICHAEL MYERS
40 years after first terrorizing us, Michael Myers returned to the big screen in 2018 with a direct sequel to ‘Halloween Night’ that ignored every other installment in the series.
This direct continuation of the John Carpenter classic established an alternate timeline in which Myers had been captured by the police shortly after the original slaughter of him. After spending four decades in the Smith’s Grove sanitarium, he escapes for his final confrontation with Laurie Strode, which he has been preparing since 1978. After the end of this film we will now have two more sequels, ‘Halloween Kills’ and’ Halloween Ends ‘. Today we want to focus on the first and answer all the doubts about this that you may have.
‘Halloween Kills’, when will it hit theaters?
The premiere of ‘Halloween Kills’ was scheduled for October 16, 2020, and that of ‘Halloween Ends’ for October 15, 2021. But the pandemic has caused both titles to be delayed for at least a year. In recent statements and following the strategy of “Wonder Woman 1984”, John Carpenter assured that they are evaluating the simultaneous release of the first film in theaters and streaming: “The cinemas are dead, we have to face it.”
Luckily, we will finally see the movie on the big screen: ‘Halloween Kills’ has a release date of October 22, 2021.
Along with this will return several of the characters from the original 1978 film: Anthony Michael Hall will be Tommy Doyle, the boy Laurie cared for, and Kyle Richards will reprise his role as Lindsay Wallace, the other girl who lived through the Myers massacre. Along with these we will also have Robert Longstreet playing an adult Lonnie Elam, the school bully who messed with Doyle, Charles Cyphers, the actor who played Sheriff Leigh Brackett, and Dr. Loomis’s nurse, Marion Chambers ( Nancy Stephens), who has returned to the saga after dying in ‘Halloween H20’.
Also returning in the sequel are Judy Greer and Andi Matichak as Laurie’s daughter Karen and her granddaughter Allyson. For their part, Nick Castle and James Jude Courtney will once again take on Myers’ shoes, the former having shared a funny video about their “strange” preparation for the shoot.
And together with them, today we learned that another mythical character from the saga will return in this sequel. This is Doctor Loomis, a character played by Donald Pleasence and later played by Malcolm McDowell in the two installments made by Rob Zombie.
We assume that this return will be in flashback mode, especially since the character would already be too old to be alive, and Pleasence himself died years ago. What is unknown is whether it will return through some unpublished material from the filming of Carpenter’s films or this character will be recreated through another actor.
‘Halloween Kills’, what is the official plot?
